Campaign branding: 2021

The goal for this project was to help Mr. Espindola with visual communication strategies for his re-election campaign for local office. As member of the Board of Selectman for Fairhaven, Massachusetts, Espindola wanted to emphasize the financial, environmental, and social programs that his time in office had already impacted, as well as help reach voters of new demographics that might not have already been familiar with his work.

Design goals were to make large amounts of information accessible and inviting, to break down and explain complex concepts visually, to branch out into as many platforms as possible in order to reach voters during a time of social distancing, and to engage the community in public events.

The design approach was to use a consistent visual brand identity to help with both recognition and clear communication. A bold color palette of blue and green referenced stability, trustworthiness, and growth. Combined with simple iconography and a balance between a contemporary and practical typographic system, the visual identity was a reflection of Mr. Espindola himself.
